Week of April 30, 2018

Updated: Apr 30, 2018

Kinvo Refresher: Please join me in the auditorium on Monday, during the first half of the PL time, for a quick refresher on how to effectively utilize Kinvo to communicate with parents.

Data Portal vs PS 201 Website:  Please join me in the auditorium during the first half of the PL time for a quick refresher around the difference between the main website ( ps201.org) and the data portal (reports.ps201.org).

Morning/ After School Programs: Please remind your students who have been invited to participate in the ELA morning and/or Math after school program to attend the program(s) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please also remind their parents, during dismissal and/or via class DO JO, to ensure that their children attend the programs on those days.

Math Test: Please be reminded that the NYS Math Assessment will be administered to all students in Grades 3-5 Tuesday and Wednesday. Protocols and procedures around testing will be in place both testing days. Please refer to the documents Ms. Heskial e-mailed you for logistical arrangements and prep changes. Remember that lunch will be served to students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 during period 4 and all upper grade classes will have lunch period 5 on testing days.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  Please take some time this week to reflect on why you came to be a teacher. Pay homage to teachers in your past, teachers in your present, and the teachers yet to come.  Life hands us lessons in all stages of our lives, and we are constantly learning from one another.  As you navigate this week, please know that we recognize and appreciate all your dedication and hard work in ensuring that your students receive the best education possible. As a teacher, please remember that you contribute to the future each and every day and you are the best advocate for your students. Just as you remember your teachers, your students will remember you. As educators, through our students we all live on and that is the best reward anyone can get!

Please join us for breakfast in the library on Tuesday, May 8th at 7:40am provided by our wonderful PTA.

Spring into the Arts: Thank you Ms. Cyr and Ms. Rice for putting together a wonderful show on Friday! Thank you also our wonderful students for their excellent performance! I could not have asked for a better show! We had a wonderful parent turnout! Our parents were extremely satisfied and happy with the show.

ELA/Math Benchmark Results: As you know, we administered benchmark assessments to measure student understanding of grade level skills in ELA and math. We analyzed results and for each subject, came up with a summary sheet for you to review. We believe, the information will be helpful in differentiating for individual student's needs.
